A nail filer is a tool used to lightly sharpen and shape nails. They are commonly used in manicures and pedicures after the nails have been trimmed using the appropriate nail clippers. The nail file grit index is the most critical factor in measuring the nail file's quality. The higher the grit number, the faster the nail file and vice versa. So a 400-grit file has abrasive particles with a higher fineness than an 80-grit file which has less coarse abrasive particles and can be harmful to your natural nails. If your nails are thin and brittle, choose a high-grit nail file.
