How Long Does It Take to Become a Nail Tech in AK

To become a nail tech in AL, you must finish 250 hours of education from an approved Alaska beauty school. You may attend school full-time, which allows you to complete your training in a matter of weeks. 

License Nail Technician State Requirements

To get a license for Nail Tech in AK, you must pass a written and practical test with a $60 exam fee. You must also pay a $150 application fee and a $180 licensing fee.

The certificated nail technician has to renew the nail technician license every 2 years in the odd-numbered year by the end of August. You do not need additional education hours when renewing the nail technician license. The extra cost for renewing your license is $140 (by the due date) and goes up by $180 (after August 31). Advanced manicurist endorsement renewal costs an additional $60.
