How Long Does It Take to Become a Nail Tech in HI

To become a nail tech in HI, you have to finish 350 education hours or 700 apprentice hours.

License Nail Technician State Requirements

To get the nail tech license, you must be over 16 years old and have passed the 10th grade. You also have to pay $150 for the test and license fees.

The certificated nail technician must renew the license every 2 years in odd-numbered years. You do not need additional education hours when renewing the nail technician license. Before qualifying for initial licensure, you must complete a program with at least 350 hours of training. The cost of your initial application will be $20. To maintain your manicurist or pedicurist license, you must renew it every two years in odd-numbered years. The deadline for renewal is December 31st.
